Why Rahu and Ketu are Important in Kundali Matching- Taking the example of the Kaal

Sarp Dosha

The art of Kundali Matching is a vast and in-depth study of positions of planetary bodies, stars,
and constellations. Kundali matching gives an insight into the individual’s past, present, and
future. In ancient times, when a child belonging to the Hindu community, was born, the details
surrounding his birth, for example, the date, time, and place of birth, were religiously noted
down by the guardian. These details were then sent to a professional astrologer who would form
the child’s Janam kundali after studying the planetary positions following the time and date of
birth. The Janam Kundali of the child was used to predict their future and see whether there is
the presence of any powerful dosha or yoga in the kundali that can cause an impact on the child’s
life. The positions of planets during time and date of birth are capable of forming different
doshas and yogas. Therefore, during the marriage, both the bride and groom’s kundalis are
matched to check both compatibility levels and the presence of negative doshas. These negative
doshas are tried to be canceled or removed by implementing various remedies. This article is
going to focus on the notorious Kaal Sarp Dosh and its various types.

The Kaal Sarp Dosha:

Kaal Sarp Dosh is often considered to be one of the most powerful doshas that are present in an
individual’s kundali. It is said that the presence of the Kaal sarp yoga may also result in death
apart from innumerable struggles throughout the individual’s lifespan. Kaal sarp yoga is formed
when the planets of Rahu and Ketu occupy positions parallel to each other forming an angle of
180 degrees between them. However, there are many types of Kaal sarp yogas. Let’s have a look
below to find out a few types:

7th house alongside all other planets in between, in the native’s birth chart, then the Kaal sarp
yoga takes the Anant Kaal Sarp Yoga. The people cursed with this dosha face numerous
